We live in a golden age of entertainment, with great new movies and TV shows being released all the time. There’s so much, in fact, that it can be hard to keep track of what’s coming, and what to get excited about.
With that in mind, we’ve put together a list of the biggest and best trailers released this week. And while this is a light week, there’s still some good stuff on the horizon, featuring everything from chaotic aliens to fungus zombies and superpowered antiheroes.
Movies
Thunderbolts*

In cinemas 2nd May
Absolute cinema! Marvel tries something a little different with this latest trailer for upcoming team-up movie Thunderbolts* (we’re still not 100% sure what that asterisk means).
Cut in a style you’d expect more from a cool indie studio like A24, this highlights some off-kilter character moments, rather than plot, and calls out the talented cast and crew behind the film. It’s not often a production designer gets a shout-out in a trailer, but it’s definitely got us excited.
Lilo & Stitch

In cinemas 23rd May
The second of Disney’s live action remakes coming out this year (after Snow White). This is adapting the anarchic 2002 favourite, about an eccentric young girl who befriends an escaped alien experiment.
It looks suitably charming and chaotic, funny and sweet in equal measure, and it’s an added bonus that original voice actor Chris Sanders returns to perform the slobbering, snickering Stitch.
Remember: ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten. *sob*
The Surfer

In cinemas 2nd May
Nicholas Cage just wants to go surfing with his son. Unfortunately for him, a cult-like group of unwelcoming boarders have taken up residence on his beach, and won’t let him anywhere near the waves.
Cue a sun-soaked descent into madness as the rivalry spins out of control. Cars are defaced, lives are threatened and Cage gets to go Full Cage, at one point force-feeding a dead rat to one of the evil surfers. Perfection.
TV Shows
The Last of Us

Season 2 on Sky Atlantic from 13th April
The wait is almost over! Finally, HBO’s prestigious post-apocalyptic video game adaptation returns with a second season.
This time using divisive (but utterly brilliant) sequel The Last of Us Part II as its source material, the new batch of episodes promises to up both the action and the emotional stakes. And if the game is anything to go by, audiences will be put through the wringer by the end.
We can’t wait.
The Studio

Season 1 on Apple TV+ from 26th March
Creative duo Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (The Boys) turn their lens inwards for this satirical comedy drama, following a Hollywood studio executive’s struggles to make a good movie.
Featuring a great regular cast, including Rogen himself, Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek) and Kathryn Hahn (WandaVision), plus a wealth of directors and stars playing themselves (Scorcese!), this looks like a lot of fun.
