Coming soon to Sky Atlantic
The best new and returning shows coming soon to Sky Atlantic.
Sky Atlantic is the only place to watch award-winning TV series from both the UK and US, including the likes of Game of Thrones, The Sopranos and loads more.
The channel is always adding new content to its ever-expanding catalogue, including brand new, soon-to-be-favourite shows and continuations of beloved, well-established series.
Here’s a look at what’s coming to Sky Atlantic this year.
New Sky Atlantic series
Lockerbie: A Search for Truth
2nd January 2025
Credit: Lockerbie: A Search For Truth | Official Trailer (Peacock, YouTube)
A limited drama series based on the real-life story of Jim Swire (Colin Firth) and his quest for justice after his daughter was killed in the Lockerbie bombing.
This looks to be an emotional, difficult watch, especially given the real-life subject matter, which still impacts the lives of many, but given that questions still linger over the bombing, this could be pretty essential television.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
Coming in 2025
Return to Westeros in this second spin-off of the monumentally popular Game of Thrones. This brand new series, based on George R.R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas, is another prequel, this time taking place a mere 90 years before the events of the original show.
It follows the adventures of hedge knight Ser Duncan the Tall, aka ‘Dunk’ (Peter Claffey), and his young squire Prince Aegon Targaryen - yes, another one - aka Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell), as they travel the titular Seven Kingdoms.
Here’s hoping this one is a bit more light and fun - as hard as that is to imagine in grim and gritty Westeros - than its more serious, ponderous sibling, House of the Dragon.
The Death of Bunny Munro
Coming in 2025
An adaptation of Nick Cave’s darkly comedic novel, this limited series follows the titular Bunny Munro (Matt Smith), a womanizing, alcoholic travelling salesman who takes his young son on an out-of-control roadtrip around Brighton.
Also, there’s a serial killer on the loose. Classic Nick Cave.
Small Town, Big Story
Coming in 2025
Created by Chris O’Dowd (The IT Crowd), this comedy drama series charts what happens when a major Hollywood film production descends upon a sleepy Irish town, and inadvertently uncovers a dark secret that the townspeople have kept hidden for years.
There’s some pretty impressive talent involved in this one, including Christina Hendricks (Mad Men), Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon) and Clarke Peters (The Wire).
Amadeus
Coming in 2025
A limited series adapted from the 1979 stage play (and subsequent 1984 movie), which tells a fictionalised account of the rivalry between composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri.
Will Sharpe (The White Lotus) takes the role of the young upstart Mozart, while Paul Bettany (Avengers: Infinity War) plays his older rival. The most exciting thing here is that the show comes from Joe Barton, the mind behind recent hits like Giri/Haji and Black Doves.
Iris
Coming in 2025
A Sky Original thriller series from Luthor creator Neil Cross. This follows a puzzle-addicted genius - the titular Iris, played by Niamh Algar (Censor) - who steals a mysterious code from a charming philanthropist (Tom Hollander) and ends up on the run.
With the clock ticking and nefarious forces on her tail, Iris must use all of her intelligence and resourcefulness to stay one step ahead and discover what the code could unleash.
Returning Sky Atlantic series
The White Lotus - Season 3
17th February 2025

The critically-acclaimed, darkly comedic drama series returns, bringing a much-needed dose of sun to our screens in darkest February.
Each season is mostly standalone, following the exploits of the guests and staff at a new branch of the fictional luxury hotel chain. This time we’re jetting off to Thailand, where a new ensemble cast of bizarre characters will be getting up to no good.
Joining the series this season are Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter), Carrie Coon (The Leftovers), Walton Goggins (Fallout) and Aimee Lou Wood (Sex Education).
The Last of Us - Season 2
Coming April 2025

HBO’s megahit post-apocalyptic drama finally returns for a follow-up season this spring, this time adapting the divisive video game sequel The Last of Us Part II.
If the show follows the source material as closely as the first season did, expect a much darker, much more morally complex story - which is saying something, considering what happened throughout season 1.
Joining the cast are Jeffrey Wright (Westworld), Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek) and Kaitlyn Dever (Booksmart) in the key role of Abby. Be sure to have tissues on hand for this one. And a sofa to hide behind.
