Find out which new films are coming this July.

Read on for all the new releases coming to Sky Cinema this month.

Sky Cinema new releases: What’s on in July

William Tell - 4th July

Historical action epic, following the life of the legendary Swiss folk hero. Similarly to Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood, this aims to be a more grounded, based-in-fact version of the hero’s exploits.

But, most importantly, yes there is a bit where he shoots an apple off the top of a guy’s head. Stars Claes Bang and Connor Swindells.

Strange Darling - 5th July

A twisty-turny cat-and-mouse psychological thriller that will genuinely keep you guessing until the credits roll. The least said about the plot before you go in the better, but it broadly involves a one-night stand that turns into a fight for survival.

Stars Willa Fitzgerald (Reacher) and Kyle Gallner (Dinner in America).

I Don’t Understand You - 6th July

Pitch-black comedy starring Nick Kroll (Big Mouth) and Andrew Rannells (Book of Mormon), about an LA couple who travel to rural Italy to adopt a baby. Things go very badly from there.

Wicked - 11th July

Blockbuster film musical based on the blockbuster stage musical, which is based on the bestselling novel, which is a revisionist prequel to The Wizard of Oz. Got all that?

This was one of the biggest movies at the box office last year, was nominated for several Oscars and - surprise - is actually the first part of a two-part adaptation. The final part, Wicked: For Good, comes out this Christmas, so get caught up now!

Stars Cynthia Erivo (Bad Times at the El Royale), Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park) and popstar Ariana Grande.

Sew Torn - 12th July

Crime thriller about a seamstress (see what they did there?), struggling on the verge of bankruptcy, who stumbles upon a drug deal gone bad. What she chooses to do from there plays out in several alternative storylines.

Think Sliding Doors by way of No Country For Old Men.

Running on Empty - 13th July

Comedy drama with a touch of light sci-fi. In the near future, a mortician uses new technology to learn just how long he has left to live, and sets out to make the most of every day.

Juror #2 - 18th July

Tense courtroom drama starring Nicholas Hoult (Superman) and Toni Collette (Hereditary).

An ordinary family man finds himself in an extraordinary moral dilemma when he’s called up for jury duty. Turns out the murder case he’s sitting on might have a much more personal connection than he ever could have realised.

Sacramento - 19th July

Following a family death, two long-time friends embark on a road trip across California, aiming to address past mistakes along the way.

Stars Michael Cera (Superbad) and Kristen Stewart (Twilight).

Buffalo Kids - 20th July

Another road movie - this one animated - following two Irish orphans who emigrate to the US and end up travelling across the country in search of their missing uncle.

Stars Gemma Arterton (Clash of the Titans), Sean Bean (Game of Thrones) and Alisha Weir (Abigail).

Kraven the Hunter - 25th July

The final movie in the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters - yes they really went with the acronym SPUMC.

This is the same concept as movies like Venom and Morbius, taking a notable Spider-Man villain, giving them a backstory and trying to turn them into an antihero. Oh, and with no mention of Spider-Man, of course.

Getting in on the fun this time are Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass) and Russell Crowe (Thor: Love & Thunder).

Rumours - 26th July

Surreal satire about a group of world leaders at the G7 summit who must deal with an increasingly bizarre, possibly world-ending crisis.

Stars Cate Blanchett (Lord of the Rings) and Alicia Vikander (Tomb Raider).

The Sloth Lane - 17th July

Animated family adventure about a group of sloths who move to the big city to run a food truck after a storm destroys their home. You know, as you do.
