How much is Sky Sports? Our guide to the cost of Sky Sports
Big sporting action, but how big is the price tag?
Sky Sports is one of the biggest names in televised sport, bringing Premier League football, Formula 1, golf, cricket, darts and plenty more into homes across the UK.
Whether you're looking to add Sky Sports to your existing TV package or sign up for the first time, there are several options available at different prices.
We've broken down the latest Sky Sports costs, what's included in your subscription and how you can get the best deal.
How much does Sky Sports cost in 2026?
The price of Sky Sports depends on whether you're a new or existing Sky customer, which TV package you have and how long you're willing to commit for.
For new customers, Sky Sports is currently available from £35 a month when bundled with Sky Essential TV and Netflix through Sky Stream on a 24-month contract.
Existing Sky TV customers can also add Sky Sports to their package, with Sky advertising its complete sports offering from £22 extra a month on a new 24-month agreement.
Here are some of the current Sky Sports deals available through Digital TV:
Sky Sports package | Monthly price |
| Sky Stream, Essential TV, Netflix & Sky Sports | £35 |
| Sky Stream, Ultimate TV, Netflix, Disney+ & Sky Sports | £44 |
| Sky Stream, Essential TV, Netflix, Sky Sports & Full Fibre Gigafast | £55 |
All three packages are advertised with 24-month contracts and no upfront costs. Prices may change during the minimum term.
These deals give you plenty of choice, whether you're simply after the sports channels or want to combine them with other entertainment and broadband services.
How much is Sky Sports for existing customers?
Already have Sky TV? You don't need to take out an entirely new package to enjoy Sky Sports.
Existing customers can add the full Sky Sports collection to their subscription, with Sky currently advertising an upgrade for £22 a month when taking out a new 24-month Sky TV agreement.
However, your actual price can depend on your current subscription, existing discounts and contract length.
If you only want Formula 1, Sky also offers Sky Sports F1 as a standalone channel for eligible existing customers, meaning you don't necessarily have to pay for the entire sports package.
It's worth checking your personalised offers through the My Sky app before committing, particularly if you're nearing the end of your current contract.
What's included with Sky Sports?
Sky Sports is about much more than football, although its extensive Premier League coverage is certainly one of the biggest attractions.
A complete subscription gives you access to nine dedicated premium sports channels, covering everything from football and motorsport to cricket, tennis, golf and rugby.
Some of the biggest sporting attractions include:
- Football: Premier League, EFL, Scottish Premiership, Women's Super League and Carabao Cup fixtures.
- Formula 1: Every Grand Prix, qualifying session and practice session live on Sky Sports F1.
- Cricket: England home internationals, The Hundred and domestic competitions.
- Golf: All four men's majors, alongside PGA Tour and DP World Tour coverage.
- Tennis: ATP and WTA Tour events, including the US Open.
- Other sports: NFL, NBA, PDC darts, rugby league, netball and selected boxing events.
Sky Sports also offers news, highlights, documentaries and analysis, so there's plenty to watch even when your favourite sport isn't taking place.
What is Sky Sports+?
Sky Sports+ is one of the biggest additions to the service in recent years, giving subscribers access to significantly more live sporting events.
Included at no extra cost with a complete Sky Sports subscription, it provides additional live streams alongside a dedicated TV channel.
This is particularly useful for football fans, with extensive EFL coverage from the Championship, League One and League Two. There are also additional tennis, rugby league and other sporting events available.
Can you get Sky Sports without Sky TV?
Yes! While Sky Sports isn't available as a completely standalone subscription directly through Sky, you don't necessarily need to become a Sky TV customer to enjoy it.
One of the most flexible alternatives is NOW, which allows you to stream Sky Sports without signing up for a traditional Sky television package.
NOW offers different Sports Membership options, including:
- Day Membership: Ideal for watching a particular match, race or sporting event.
- Flexible Monthly Membership: Gives you access to Sky Sports with the option to cancel on a rolling basis.
- Longer-term offers: Discounted monthly memberships may be available if you're happy to commit for a longer period.
This makes NOW particularly appealing if you only follow one sport or don't want to pay for Sky Sports throughout the entire year.
Just remember that additional features, such as enhanced picture quality and simultaneous streaming, may require a separate Boost or Ultra Boost membership.
Can you get Sky Sports with other TV providers?
Sky isn't your only option when it comes to subscribing to its sports channels.
Virgin Media and BT offers Sky Sports through selected TV packages and add-ons, allowing customers to combine live sport with its wider television and broadband services.
Depending on the package, Sky Sports can also be accessed through supported TV services from other providers, including EE TV.
However, channel availability, picture quality and access to features such as Sky Sports+ can vary between providers.
It's worth comparing the full monthly cost rather than just the advertised sports add-on price, particularly if you're considering switching your broadband or TV provider at the same time.
How can you watch Sky Sports?
There are several ways to enjoy Sky Sports depending on your television setup and subscription.
Sky Stream is one of the simplest options, delivering television over your broadband connection rather than through a satellite dish. Simply connect the streaming puck to your TV and internet connection to get started.
Sky Glass also provides access to Sky Sports through an internet-connected television, combining your TV and Sky's streaming service in one device.
Sky Q remains an option for customers using Sky's satellite-based television service, although the deals available may differ from those offered with Sky Stream.
Subscribers can also use Sky Go to watch eligible Sky Sports content on compatible phones, tablets and other devices while away from their main television.
