We live in a golden age of entertainment, with great new movies and TV shows being released all the time. There’s so much, in fact, that it can be hard to keep track of what’s coming, and what to get excited about.
With that in mind, we’ve put together a list of the biggest and best trailers released this week, featuring everything from deadly game shows to hidden aliens and inexperienced astronauts.
The Running Man

In cinemas 7th November
Edgar Wright - beloved director behind the Cornetto Trilogy, Baby Driver and Scott Pilgrim vs The World - finally returns to cinemas this year, with another frenetic action extravaganza. This time he’s taking on the King.
Stephen King, that is.
Adapting the prolific author’s dystopian sci-fi thriller (originally published under his Richard Bachman pseudonym), this is the story of an ordinary guy in dire financial straits who signs up to America’s most popular, and deadly, game show.
All he has to do to win the cash prize is survive for 30 days, with five trained killers - not to mention the entire country - hunting him down. It’s a brilliant concept for an action movie, and one that wasn’t quite done justice in the (very loose) Arnold Schwarzenegger adaptation in the ‘80s.
Stars Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick), Josh Brolin (No Country For Old Men) and Michael Cera (Scott Pilgrim vs the World).
Project Hail Mary

In cinemas 20th March 2026
Based on the bestselling novel by Andy Weir (The Martian), this looks a bit like a mashup of Armageddon and Sunshine, with a little high-concept alien sci-fi thrown in for good measure.
Ryan Gosling plays a science teacher who - for some reason - becomes humanity’s last hope for survival when our sun goes on the blink. Venturing out into deep space, completely alone, he’ll have to figure out what’s gone wrong before it’s too late.
Bugonia

In cinemas October
Idiosyncratic filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Things, The Favourite) tries his hand at science fiction, sort of, in this paranoid comedy drama about a beekeeper who becomes convinced that his boss is actually an alien in disguise.
Judging by the concept - and Lanthimos’s previous movies - this one will be absolutely nuts. Stars Jesse Plemons (Civil War) and Emma Stone (Poor Things).
Eden

In cinemas 22nd August
The Internet’s been in a bit of a tizzy over this movie ever since it was announced - Sydney Sweeney, Ana de Armas and Vanessa Kirby? Stuck together on a desert island??! It’s enough to get teenage boys everywhere flocking to the cinema.
But now that we’ve seen a teaser, it turns out that Ron Howard’s new thriller is actually a bit less Love Island, a bit more Lord of the Flies.
Based on a true story, this follows a group of outcasts who set up their own society on a remote island, only to find that their greatest challenge isn’t in conquering the landscape, but in surviving each other.
